Youngsville PA Real Estate and Community Information

Country Home

Youngsville, PA is a Warren County borough with a population of just fewer than 2,000 people as of the 2000 census. It is quaint and peaceful community that was first settled in the 1700s when approximately 600 men fighting in the American Revolution arrived at an Indian village that was called Buckaloons, which is near the current borough. By 1799, people began settling in the area. The first post office was opened in 1819, but the first newspaper didn’t begin until 1849. One year later, a one room schoolhouse was built followed by a hotel in 1851.

Properties became high in demand because the land was perfect for raising pigs and cattle. However, many roamed freely until an ordinance had to be passed that said they couldn’t roam after a certain time of the evening. Eventually, land owners confined their cattle and pigs, but the number of individuals raising them dwindled as the area modernized.

Parks and Recreation

Youngsville is very close to the Chapman State Park, which has many opportunities to spend time in nature. There is also the Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool, which is part of the Hilltop Park Recreation Area, and it features a Free Community Day each year. Island Park presents sporting opportunities as does Division Street Field, and Legion field. If you have children or you like to watch sports, you may want to consider homes near these areas. There is also Pool Hill, which presents a nice sledding opportunity in the winter when it snows.

Attractions and Activities

The Annual Music Series in Island Park is a nice event for members of the community to attend for free. Each of the 13 weeks features a different style of music and activities for all ages to enjoy.

Something that many individuals find to be attractive s a good recycling program and this community has had its trial run in hopes it can establish a permanent program. This is part of the goal of making the entire community more environmentally friendly.

The Kayak Poker Run is a fun event that occurs each year. Instead of a poker run on motorcycles, this poker run takes place on the Allegheny River in Kayaks. There are also movie nights, a paranormal fair, events for pets, a Luau, and the Warren County Fair takes place in August of every year. You can view the event schedule on this page. A real estate agent is also a great resource when finding out what the area has to offer, so call Jonathan Dushaw today to learn about the homes, properties, and other attractive elements of this community.
